About Mr. Owen

Mr. Owen teaches high school at Pioneer High School in the Blossom Hill/Almaden area of San Jose.  He teaches freshmen and juniors.  He has priorly taught freshmen and juniors at Scotts Valley High School, and juniors at Santa Cruz High School.  This is his first group of regular college-prep juniors.

Mr. Owen loves literature from the 1920s to present.  He is the most fascinated with writers like Stephen King and David Sedaris.

To Mr. Owen, the American Dream is owning ones own house in a safe neighborhood and having the ability to take care of ones own house without employing gardeners and housekeepers.  The American Dream is also being able to pursue career goals without being put into a somewhat arbitrary caste.  The American Dream is also being able to settle down with a spouse, kids, and pets.  Mr. Owen is living the American Dream, which is good, because he doesn’t sleep enough to dream.
